Welcome! I created this site as a way to have all of my recipes in one place as well as a way to easily share recipes with family and friends who frequently ask for them. I try to keep my posts short and sweet. As a busy mom searching for new recipe ideas, I personally like to see short blog posts with just a picture, the recipe and any helpful tips or tricks, so that’s what I’m trying to do here.
I live in Charleston, SC with my two wonderful children. My husband passed away from cancer in 2015 at the young age of 36. I’ve always tried to maintain a healthy lifestyle, but even more so since he passed away. I believe your health is your true wealth and without it, you are not able to live life to the fullest. I strive to eat as healthy as I can the majority of the time with the occasional splurge on a calorie laden comfort food or an amazing dessert and my recipes reflect that.
Pug and Tater were my great aunt and my great uncle. Every year growing up over Memorial Day weekend, we would drive to Pug and Tater’s house in Kentucky for a family get together. They always had so much delicious food there and we would eat constantly all day in between running around with our cousins. My personal favorite foods were the desserts which were displayed all over the entire dining room.
My cooking inspiration comes from my mother and my grandmother who are both great cooks. My mom always had home cooked meals for us even though she was raising four children and constantly juggling all of our activities. To this day, the best meal I’ve ever had was Thanksgiving dinner at my grandmother’s house during my senior year in college. That was around the time that Easy Mac came out and I’m not sure if I had been eating too much of that or not, but either way, that meal was delicious.
Thanks for stopping by and hope you enjoy my recipes!
